Dinkelland municipality / Gemeente Dinkelland (Ov)

Municipality in Twente, formed in 2001 and covering the combined territories of the former municipalities of Ootmarsum, Denekamp and Weerselo. This page shows churches in several places in the municipality and is not complete.

Gemeente in Twente, ontstaan in 2001 door samenvoeging van de voormalige gemeenten Ootmarsum, Denekamp en Weerselo. Deze pagina toont kerken in diverse plaatsen in de gemeente en is niet volledig.

 

Denekamp

 

The St. Nicolaas combines a Romanogothic nave from the 13th and 14th centuries with a tower from the 15th century and a big centralizing eastern part from 1910-1912. This part is in a combination of neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque styles and was designed by W. te Riele.

De St. Nicolaas combineert een romanogotisch schip uit de 13e en 14e eeuw met een toren uit de 15e eeuw en een groot centraliserende oostpartij uit 1910-1912. Dit deel is in een combinatie van neogotiek en neoromaanse stijl en is ontworpen door W. te Riele.

The reformed church is a modest one-aisled church in Neo-Classical style with an open octagonal tower at the front. It was built in 1810, with modifications in 1840.

De hervormde kerk is een bescheiden eenbeukige kerk in neoclassicistische stijl met voorop een open achthoekige toren. De kerk werd gebouwd in 1810 en werd in 1840 verbouwd.

Lattrop

 
The H.H. Simon en Judas is a church in Expressionist style, designed by J.Th.J. Cuypers and his son Pierre Cuypers jr., and built in 1925-1926. The church, and especially its interior, is clearly influenced by the work of Dom Paul Bellot.

De H.H. Simon en Judas is een kerk in expressionistische stijl, ontworpen door J.Th.J. Cuypers met zijn zoon Pierre Cuypers jr, en gebouwd in 1925-1926. De kerk, en vooral het interieur, is duidelijk beïnvloed door het werk van Dom Paul Bellot.

Ootmarsum

 

The H.H. Simon en Judas of Ootmarsum is the only example of a church in Westphalian Romanogothic style in The Netherlands. It largely dates from the 13th century. The original Romanesque tower was replaced by a new facade and a small wooden tower in 1842.

De H.H. Simon en Judas van Ootmarsum is het enige voorbeeld van een kerk in Westfaalse romanogotische stijl in Nederland. Zij dateert grotendeels uit de 13e eeuw. De oorspronkelijke romaanse toren werd in 1842 vervangen door een nieuwe gevel en een kleine houten toren.

The reformed church was built in 1810 and was designed by D. Hagels. It is a simple one-aisled church but with an impressive sandstone facade in Neo-Classical style. In 1844 a wooden tower was added.

De hervormde kerk werd gebouwd in 1810 en werd ontworpen door D. Hagels. Het is een eenvoudige eenbeukige kerk, maar met een indrukwekkende zandstenen gevel in neoclassicistische stijl. In 1844 werd een houten toren toegevoegd.

The convent Maria Ad Fontes was built in 1936, the chapel dates from 1938. The complex in Traditionalist style was designed by W.C.A. Kroes, son of H. Kroes.

Het klooster Maria Ad Fontes werd gebouwd in 1936, de kapel dateert uit 1938. Het complex in traditionalistische stijl werd ontworpen door W.C.A. Kroes, de zoon van H. Kroes.

Tilligte

 

The H.H. Simon en Judas of Tilligte is an aisleless church in Traditionalist style. It was built in 1916 and was architect A.J. Kropholler's  second church.

De H.H. Simon en Judas van Tilligte is een zaalkerk in traditionalistische stijl. Zij werd gebouwd in 1916 en was de tweede naar ontwerp van architect A.J. Kropholler gebouwde kerk.

Weerselo

Although Het Stift is a small village in its own right, it is considered a part of Weerselo and the location of the reformed church of that village. The small one-aisled building is from the 14th century and is a remnant of an abbey for noble women.

Hoewel Het Stift in feite een klein dorp is, wordt het beschouwd als een onderdeel van Weerselo en is het de locatie van de hervormde kerk van dat dorp. Het kleine eenbeukige gebouw stamt uit de 14e eeuw en is een restant van een abdij voor adellijke vrouwen.

Rossum


The St. Plechelmus is a three-aisled pseudo-basilica in Traditionalist style, designed by C.A. Hardeman and built in 1940-1941.

De St. Plechelmus is een driebeukige pseudobasiliek in traditionalistische stijl, ontworpen door C.A. Hardeman en gebouwd in 1940-1941.

Deurningen


The St. Plechelmus is an aisleless cruciform church in neo-Gothic style, designed by W. te Riele and built in 1910-1913.
