Vught (NB): O.L.V.
Middelares Aller Genaden (A.J. Kropholler, 1933-1934)
This church was built as the central building
of a catholic complex that also included a convent, schools and houses.
Architect Kropholler designed several similar complexes. This Mariakerk was
the first building completed for this complex.
It's a one-aisled church with a wide nave, a
low and undeep choir, a very narrow transept and a square crossing-tower.
It's a typical example of Kopholler's style, with its sparsely decorated walls,
narrow windows, heavy buttresses and a sparse use of natural stone.
The church was closed in 2001 and has fallen
into decay since.
