Siddeburen (Gr): reformed church

The church of Siddeburen is completely in Romanesque style, although parts date from different periods. The tower and the western part of the nave contain parts of tuff that date from the 12th century. The tower was heightened in brick in the first half of the 13th century, and so was the nave, which also was lengthened with a new part, using both brick and tuff. This part is a little more decorated than the western part. The semi-circular apse was built using the same materials. It is made up of two horizontal zones,  the lower of which is decorated with blind niches while the upper part has several windows. Both the windows in the apse and the eastern part of the nave show influences from Romanogothicism. The windows in the western part of the nave are not original.
